We are looking for an Ice Cream chef who knows Ice cream and gelato production techniques and has an ambition and motivation to grow. You will be involved in creating and designing home made Ice cream, gelatos, sorbets, specialty desserts and baked goods.
Ensure that sufficient ingredients are available at the time of production
Liaise with procurement manager to acquire ingredients
Start-up gelato production equipment and check it for optimal functioning
Mix ingredients in correct quantities to ensure that they conform to set recipes
Pour all mixed ingredients into the machines after setting the correct temperature and time
Ensure that the process for gelato production is run smoothly by constantly monitoring the machinery
Remove gelato from the machine by following strict removal procedures and ensure that it is placed in appropriate containers
Ascertain that the taste and texture of each batch is in accordance with the standards set
Store frozen gelato in appropriate containers, in designated refrigeration areas
Handle inventory of supplies
A genuine passion and knowledge for food and pastries
Experience with ice cream, gelato, chocolate or pastries is prefered.
Ability to perform accurate arithmetic calculations
High attention to detail and understanding of beautiful aesthetic food presentation
Experience in managing inventory
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to understand and follow recipes and instructions
